Buy a Card is a 7-card stud variant. Each player is dealt a total of 7 cards; 3 down and 4 up. For each of the 4 up cards the player has a choice of 1 of 3 cards face up on the playfield or a free card from the deck.

Each of the 3 cards displayed has a dollar value, such as 25 cents, 50 cents and 75 cents. If a player elects to buy a card then that card is replaced with a new card.

After all the buying opportunities have passed the remaining up cards are discarded.

  • Each player is dealt 2 cards down.
  • Round of betting.
  • Each player has a choice of 1 of three cards (usually .25, .50, or .75), or a free card.
  • Round of betting.
  • Each player has a choice of one of the three cards (usually .25, .50, or .75), or a free card followed by a round of betting until the player has a total of 6 cards.
  • Each player receives one last down card.
  • Final round of betting.
  • Winner is the highest 5-card poker hand remaining in the game.
