Now for a little about games in general:

Games such as Seven Card Stud and Seven Card Draw can be played both high and low. That means the highest poker hand win's half the pot. It also means that half the pot goes to the worst hand. In some games it is possible to go both high and low and win the whole pot. If you miss either the high or low - you forfeit the whole pot.

Friendly games are played as "cards speak" this means that you lay your cards on the table and if you have a straight you win against trips -- even if you don't realize it.

Check-raising in Texas hold'em adds flavor to the game (in my opinion). Set rules like this before playing. In some circles check-raising is unheard of in friendly games.

In some games there are ties for the win. If it is a split pot game any a player goes both ways (both high and low) you should establish whether the hand must be tied or won to win both ways.

Most of the games listed are poker games, meaning there is a ranking of hands that win and lose, and they are 5 card games. Some are not poker games but are played in league with them. Games that follow standard poker rules are indicated in the 'poker rules' column.
