The Good The Bad & The Ugly
The Good, the bad & the ugly is a 7-card variant that uses 3 extra table cards that cannot be used in a player's hand, they are simply indicator cards.
- Each player is dealt two down cards and 1 up card.
- Three down cards (the indicator cards) are placed in the center.
- Round of betting (High Card).
- A 4th card is dealt to each player.
- The first indicator card, called the good, is turned over. Any card in a player's hand (up or down) that matches is wild.
- Round of betting.
- A 5th card is dealt to each player.
- The second indicator card, called the bad, is turned over. Any card in a player's hand (up or down) that matches must be discarded.
- Round of betting.
- A 6th card is dealt to each player.
- The final indicator card, called the ugly, is turned over. If this card matches any up card in a player's hand the player must fold.
- Round of betting.
- A down card is dealt to any player
- Round of betting.
- The best 5-card poker hand (high) wins.
A player cannot use the wild card to replace a bad or ugly card in their hand to make a stright. So if 10's are 'bad' then you cannot have a 9-T-J-Q-K straight.
